1. Overview of Services
Xplore is a multi-utility mobile application that offers various features, including:
- Personal Notes: Create, manage, and export personal notes directly on your device, with the ability to save them as text files.
- QR Code Scanning: The app uses your device's camera to scan QR codes for accessing certain features.
- Google Account Integration: The app allows users to sign in using their Google account for a seamless experience.
- Cloud File Storage: The app integrates with Google Drive to provide secure cloud storage for your files.
- Messaging: Xplore supports email-based chat. Messages—including the content sent by the user and the time they were sent—are stored on our servers for up to 24 hours.
- WikiXplore: Access Wikipedia content directly within the app for quick research and information.
2. Permissions Required
To deliver its core functionality, Xplore requests access to the following permissions on your mobile device:
- Storage Access (Android 12 and below only): Required for saving exported notes to your device's storage.
- Camera Access: Xplore uses the camera to scan QR codes. This feature is only active when you use the QR code scanning function.
- Google Account Access: Xplore integrates with Google Sign-In to facilitate login. We use your Google account to authenticate your identity, access your username, and integrate cloud file storage through Google Drive.
- Internet Access: Required for accessing Wikipedia content through WikiXplore and other online features.
3. Data Collection and Usage
Xplore takes your privacy seriously and aims to provide transparency in how we collect and use your data.
- Personal Notes Data: Notes created within the app are stored locally on your device. We do not collect or store your notes on our servers. When you export notes, they are saved as text files on your device's storage.
- Camera Data: The app only uses your camera to scan QR codes. No photos or videos are recorded or saved from your camera unless explicitly mentioned.
- Google Account Information: Xplore collects the username associated with your Google account when you sign in. This information is used for identification within the app and to enhance your user experience. We do not store passwords or sensitive Google account information.
- Messaging Data: Messages sent via the app, along with their timestamps, are stored on our servers for up to 24 hours from the time they are sent. After 24 hours, these messages are automatically deleted. If you explicitly uninstall the app, upon reinstallation, the app will fetch any messages that remain within the 24-hour window.
- Wikipedia Content: Content accessed through WikiXplore is retrieved from Wikipedia and is subject to Wikipedia's terms of use and Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC BY-SA 3.0).
4. User Responsibilities
By using Xplore, you agree to:
- Provide Accurate Information – ensuring the information you provide, such as your username, is accurate and up-to-date.
- Grant Necessary Permissions – agreeing to grant the app the necessary permissions (camera, Google account access, and storage for note export on Android 12 and below) to deliver its functionality.
- Use Responsibly – using the app's services responsibly. Xplore is not liable for any misuse of its features.
- Comply with Wikipedia's Terms – when using WikiXplore, comply with Wikipedia's terms of use and proper attribution requirements.
- Manage Personal Notes – you are responsible for managing and backing up your personal notes. The app does not sync or back up notes to any cloud service.
5. Data Security
We take data security seriously and use industry-standard methods to protect your information. However, while we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of data shared over the internet or wireless networks.
6. Third-Party Services
Xplore integrates with third-party services such as Google Sign-In for user authentication, Google Drive for cloud file storage, and Wikipedia for content access through WikiXplore. When using these services, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions and privacy policies of the respective third-party providers.
7. Messaging Auto-Deletion
Messages sent by users, along with their timestamps, are stored on our servers for up to 24 hours from the time they are sent. After 24 hours, these messages are automatically deleted. In the event that you explicitly uninstall the app, upon reinstallation, the app will retrieve any messages that are still within the 24-hour retention period.
8. Account Deletion
If you choose to delete your account, all personal user information stored on our servers will be permanently deleted. However, your cloud files stored via Google Drive will not be deleted, as they are managed by Google Drive and remain under your control.
You can delete your account and associated data at any time by following these steps:
- Open the Xplore app
- Navigate to "Account Overview" section
- Tap on the "Delete Account" option
- Confirm your decision when prompted
Once confirmed, all your personal information and data stored on our servers will be permanently removed. If you experience any issues with account deletion, please contact us at wecare@xplore.sbs.
9. Wikipedia Content Usage
Content accessed through WikiXplore is sourced from Wikipedia and is protected under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC BY-SA 3.0). This content:
- May be subject to additional terms of use as specified by the Wikimedia Foundation
- Must be attributed to Wikipedia when shared or redistributed
- May be updated or modified on Wikipedia, and such changes will be reflected in WikiXplore
- Is provided "as is" without any guarantees of accuracy or completeness
10. Updates and Changes
We may update these Terms and Conditions periodically to reflect changes in the app's functionality or for legal reasons. We will notify you of any changes within the app. Continued use of the app after such changes means you accept the updated terms.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app if you violate any part of these Terms and Conditions or use the app for any unlawful purpose.
13. Personal Notes Feature
The Personal Notes feature allows you to:
- Create and edit text notes directly on your device
- Export selected notes or all notes as text files to your device's storage
- Notes are stored locally on your device and are not synchronized with any cloud service
- Notes persist until you explicitly delete them or uninstall the app
- Exported notes are saved in plaintext format and can be accessed using any text editor
- For Android 13 and above, no additional permissions are required to save notes
- For Android 12 and below, storage permission is required to save exported notes
By using Xplore, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue using the app.
